PORTFOLIO MANAGER

TANZANIA

START DATE: ASAP

Our client is searching for a Portfolio Manager to play a pivotal role in ensuring that their portfolio of lodges, camps, support offices, and operational assets remains exceptionally maintained, safe, efficient, and aligned with the highest hospitality standards.

This strategic position is responsible for the long-term health and performance of the property portfolio, overseeing asset lifecycle management, capital planning, and reinvestment initiatives. Combining high-level strategic oversight with regular visits to remote lodge locations, the Portfolio Manager works closely with Operations, Lodge Management, Field Operations, Procurement, Finance, Sustainability teams, and external contractors to drive excellence across the portfolio.

The successful candidate will ensure that all properties and assets consistently support outstanding guest experiences, seamless operational performance, and the company’s sustainability objectives. Through proactive maintenance strategies, effective stakeholder collaboration, and well-prioritized capital investment, the Portfolio Manager will help protect and enhance the long-term value of a world-class safari hospitality portfolio.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least seven years’ experience in asset management, project management, construction, technical operations or infrastructure management.
  • Experience in hospitality, safari camps, lodges, remote operations or similarly complex multi-site environments is strongly preferred.
  • Strong practical understanding of construction, maintenance systems, infrastructure and asset lifecycle planning.
  • Experience with remote and off-grid systems, including solar power, generators, water systems and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience managing contractors, budgets, capital projects and competing priorities.
  • Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on across a geographically dispersed lodge portfolio.
  • Strong financial, analytical and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to camps and remote sites across Tanzania.
