GENERAL OPERATIONS MANAGER

Step into a pivotal leadership role in our client’s luxury safari travel company, where your strategic oversight will shape the success of all operations across Tanzania. As the General Operations Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind the lodges, teams, and guest experiences—ensuring excellence, sustainability, and innovation at every turn.

This is more than a management role—it’s a chance to influence the future of conservation-driven hospitality in one of Africa’s most iconic destinations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ years in operational leadership roles, with direct experience in East African tourism
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and coach large, diverse teams (200+ people)
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, with a strong “getting things done” mentality
• Able to make clear, fast decisions in high-pressure situations
• Proficient in logistics, HR, cost control, fleet/asset management, and food service operations
• Strong verbal and written skills; can present and structure work clearly and persuasively
• Sensitive to local contexts and skilled at managing across cultures
• Minimum diploma or degree required
• Passionate about wildlife conservation, community upliftment, and sustainable tourism

• Swahili or other local languages preferred
• Independent and driven, yet collaborative
• Humble but assertive in leadership
• Thrives in remote, fast-paced, and unpredictable environments
• Emotionally intelligent and adaptable
