Our client, a world‑class luxury resort in the Maldives, is seeking an accomplished Director of Engineering to safeguard and elevate the property’s most vital assets. In this strategic leadership role, you will ensure that all plant, equipment, and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards, securing uninterrupted operational performance, long‑term business continuity, and the financial health of the resort. 

You’ll lead a skilled engineering team, oversee preventative and corrective maintenance, drive capital planning, and champion safety, sustainability, and efficiency across the estate. Your expertise will directly influence the reliability, resilience, and future readiness of a flagship island property known for exceptional guest experiences.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years as Director of Engineering
• Previous hotel/resort large-scale property experience
• University degree in the Engineering field
• Another professional qualification is an added advantage
• Fluent in English, strong communication skills
• Financial skills, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Time management
• Project management skills
• Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
• Knowledge of installations of mechanical equipment
• Experience with Asset Preventive maintenance
• Operating budgets
• Team player, empathetic and energetic
• Detail-oriented
• Preferably experience in remote locations
• Fire & Safety, Optimization of Energy, emergency scenarios understanding
