We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer to lead financial operations and drive sustainable growth for our client’s luxury safari travel company. REQUIREMENTS:

Must-have:

• Chartered Accountant with a proven track record of >12 years in senior finance roles.
• Must be based in Cape Town (3.5 days in the office); must have a strong affinity with the Group’s industry and the Group’s vision to drive positive impact at scale for some of Africa’s critical natural eco-systems and local communities (high likelihood of long-term stability).

General work experience:

• Minimum of 12 years of general work experience as a finance professional.
• Work experience in multiple organisations/cultures, including in senior finance roles in dynamic & growing international organizations with >300 staff.
• Minimum tenure of 5 years in a senior position with a single organisation (evidence of experience ‘through-the-cycle’ and resilience/loyalty).
• International work experience, including overseas postings outside Africa.
• Has had meaningful exposure to international Boards/investors and related dynamics.

Professional profile/experience:

• Must have grown through the business controller and FP&A ranks in sizeable international operations, gaining extensive experience in – and passion for – driving daily financial management, management reporting and budgeting / forecasting.
• Must have proven people management ability: to create and grow dynamic teams with a passion for coaching and development; proven ability to inspire, lead, and develop high-performing finance professionals and teams.
• Must have proven project management capabilities: experience in driving complex projects in the finance functions such as complex ERP rollouts, systems integrations, major business / financial process redesigns or similar.
• Must have extensive work experience and advanced proficiency in a tech-enabled data-driven analytics & reporting environment; includes extensive hands-on experience in using ERP / finance platforms, as well as related data analytics tools and platforms such as Power BI; work experience with SAGE 300 a plus (including intercompany and consolidation modules & Sage People)
• Must have work experience and affinity with automation projects between finance / accounting systems and Sales, AP and/or banking systems.
• Must have proven presentation / communications proficiency, including experience in giving presentations on financial performance to international Boards / investors.
• Must have strong general business leadership skills, engaging personality, natural decision-making inclination and commercial acumen, as well as analytical skills.
