Our client, a prestigious island resort in the Maldives, is looking for a talented Head Spa Therapist & Trainer to inspire their spa team and deliver unforgettable wellness journeys.
The Spa Trainer & Head Therapist is responsible for leading, training and mentoring the spa team to ensure consistent service excellence, technical accuracy and exceptional guest experiences. This role oversees therapist skill development, treatment quality, training programs, SOP compliance and supports daily spa operations while fostering a positive, motivated and professional team culture.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or Certification in Spa Therapy/massage
- Therapy from a recognised institution. Certified Train the Trainer qualification.
- Strong knowledge and certification in Anatomy & Physiology.
- Certifications in multiple spa modalities such as:
• Massage therapies (Swedish, Deep Tissue, Thai, Aromatherapy)
• Body treatments and rituals
• Skincare and facials
• Manicure & Pedicure
- Additional certifications in wellness, holistic therapies or specialised treatments will be an advantage
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Spa Trainer/Senior Therapist / Head Therapist.
- Previous experience in a 5-star luxury hotel or branded resort spa is mandatory.
- Proven track record in training therapists, conducting assessments and maintaining treatment standards.
- Experience in pre-opening spas, new treatment rollouts is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of holistic and wellness-based therapies (Ayurveda, Energy work, Sound healing, Tuning fork therapy, Mindfulness based treatments etc.)
- Knowledge of HIFU treatments. Knowledge to use various facial machines.
- Basic knowledge of spa operations, hygiene standards and SOP implementation
- Good administrative and reporting skills.
- Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Windows.
- Passionate about wellness, learning, and teaching. Strong leadership presence with a calm and inspiring approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Highly organised, detail-oriented and disciplined Positive attitude with the ability to motivate and uplift the team.
